Publication Ethics

This journal follows guidelines from Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in facing all aspects of publication ethics and, in particular, how to handle cases of research and publication misconduct. All articles in this journal involving human subjects should respect principles of research ethics.

Jurnal Ayurveda Medistra adapts COPE to meet high-quality standard of ethics for publisher, editors, authors, and reviewers. As an essential issue, publication ethics needs to be explained clearly to improve the quality of the research worldwide. In this part, we explain the standard for editors, authors, and reviewers. In addition, publisher doesn’t have right to interfere with the integrity of the contents and only support to publish in a timely manner.

For Editors

  • Editors must ensure a thorough, transparent, objective, fair, and wise manuscript review process. This is the basis for editors in making decisions on a manuscript, whether to reject or accept. In this case, the editorial board acts as a manuscript selection team.
  • Editors must ensure that manuscript writing guidelines for authors and other interested parties can be accessed and read clearly, both in print and electronic versions.
  • Editors must ensure reviewers and manuscript materials for review, and clearly inform reviewers of the provisions and process of manuscript review.
  • Editors must be objective, neutral, and honest in editing manuscripts, without distinguishing between gender, business side, ethnicity, religion, race, inter-group, and citizenship of the author.
  • Editors must maintain all information properly, especially that related to the privacy of the author and the distribution of their manuscripts.
  • Editors must understand the ethics of scientific publication above to avoid conflicts of interest with other parties, so that the manuscript publication process runs smoothly and safely.

For Reviewers

  • Reviewers must be honest, objective, unbiased, independent, and only side with scientific truth. The manuscript review process is carried out professionally without distinguishing between gender, business side, ethnicity, religion, race, inter-group, and citizenship of the author.
  • Reviewers must ensure that the reference sources/citations of the manuscript are appropriate and credible (can be accounted for). If errors or deviations are found in writing reference sources/citations, the reviewer must immediately inform the editor for corrections by the author according to the reviewer's notes.
  • Reviewers must respond to manuscripts that have been sent by the editor and work according to the manuscript review time (peer-review) that has been set (maximum 3 weeks). If additional time is needed in reviewing the manuscript, they must immediately report (confirm) to the editorial secretariat.
  • Reviewers must understand the ethics of scientific publication above to avoid conflicts of interest with other parties, so that the manuscript publication process runs smoothly and safely.

For Authors

  • Authors must provide information about the process and results of their research and/or studies to the editors honestly, clearly, and comprehensively, and keep their research and study data well and safely.
  • Authors must ensure that the manuscript that has been sent or submitted to the editors is an original manuscript, written by the author, and is sourced from their own ideas and concepts, and not the result of plagiarizing the writings or ideas and/or concepts of others. Authors are strictly prohibited from changing the names of cited reference sources to other people's names.
  • Authors must inform that the manuscript sent or submitted to the editors is a manuscript that has never been sent or submitted to other journal publishers or publications. If there is a "redundancy" in sending manuscripts to other publishers, the editors will reject the manuscript submitted by the author.
  • Authors must inform the editors that the author has competence or qualifications in a particular field of expertise that is in accordance with the fields of Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, Pharmacy and Other Health Sciences. Authors must include an affiliation, namely the author's institution of origin. The author who submits the manuscript to the editor is the first author (co-author), so that if a problem is found in the manuscript publishing process, it can be resolved immediately.
  • The author must immediately inform the editor if an error is found in the writing of the manuscript, either the review result or the editing result. These writing errors include writing names, affiliations or institutions, quotations, and other writings that can reduce the meaning and substance of the manuscript. If this happens, the author must immediately propose improvements to the manuscript.
  • The author must understand the ethics of scientific publication above to avoid any conflicts of interest with other parties, so that the manuscript can be processed smoothly and safely.
